White Mountain National Forest

I spent a day and a half in the end of July 2021 hiking in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, primarily to the top of Mount Chocorua and back.

It was raining the day before the Mount Chocorua hike, but we were still able to go on a warmup hike up the Georgiana and Harvard Falls Trail.

This area had been full of wildfire smoke for many days due to the US West Coast and Canadian fires, and this was the first day the wind direction finally changed, and the smoke had cleared following the storm the day before.

The beginning of the hike followed the path of a river, passing multiple waterfalls, including Pitcher Falls, falling into a granite flume (seen above).

The views from the way up were incredible.

The highlight for me was the view while approaching the peak of Mount Chocorua.
